Coal handling rises at Haldia Dock in November-2011
HALDIA : Coal handling at Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) of Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) rose by 7.07 per cent in November 2011 to 906,980 tonne, compared to 847,098 tonne in October, according to a KoPT’s official source.
India Coal Market Watch (ICMW), quoted a senior KoPT official as saying that of total handling in November, domestic coal accounted for 246,797 tonne while the remaining 660,183 tonne was imported coal, both coking (463,649 tons) and non-coking (196,534 tons).

In November 2010, the dock had handled a total of 685,464 tonne of coal.

During the first eight months (April-November) of this fiscal year, the port handled about 7,578,187 tonne of coal while during the corresponding period of the previous financial year, the figure stood at 6,559,223 tonne
