Details: Tata Power Company has been established in the year 2005 and it is a joint venture. It involves Tata steel and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation or WBIDC. 98% stake of the company is being taken by Tata steel. Hooghly Met Coke and Power Company is involved in to getting a power project in Haldia and that is having proposed capacity of 1.6 mil ion tonne in metallurgical coke. This is to be supplied to Tata steel in Jamshedpur. It can be used for domestic as well as international market. Tata Power Company would be harnessing all such power that is to be utilized from this project.
